Peregrine Gear Co. exists because we couldn't find the gear we actually wanted. Not the heavy stuff. Not the cheap stuff. Not the stuff designed by committee for a market research paper. Just well-made, compact, thoughtfully designed camping kit that earns its place in the boot of a Defender and stays there.
We started with a simple idea: everything should pack small, perform properly, and do one job well. If it can't do that, it doesn't make the cut. That's not a marketing line — it's the brief we set ourselves before we commission anything. Real weights. Real dimensions. Tested in the Peaks, the Dales, and a few places the weather's considerably worse.
Who we make it for
Car campers. Weekend warriors with a proper kit list. People who've owned the wrong gear and aren't doing it again. The late 20s to early 40s crowd who buy Alpkit instead of Decathlon, research before they buy, and notice bad design. That's our customer. Probably you.
We sell to people who camp out of a well-kitted SUV or a loaded-up van, who have a go-to spot and a reliable kit list, and who want their gear to be as considered as the rest of their life. No gimmicks. No buzzwords. Just good kit.
The compact principle
Everything we sell must pack to the size of something you could justify carrying. That means genuine compression ratios, honest weight specs, and packaging that doesn't lie. We don't ship air. We don't add bulk for the sake of shelf presence. If it goes in a drybag at the bottom of the boot and comes out ready to perform, it belongs in our range.
